Volun-TEEN Program - Schooner Lily Sail & Citizen Science
Time & Location
About The Event
As you know, our pride and joy, the Indian River Lagoon has been in a fragile if not volatile state for many years now. Eutrophication compounded with releases from Lake Okeechobee has led to massive die offs of both fish, mammals, and birds! Keeping this in mind, we will be doing a bird count to upload onto eBird, an online database run by Cornell Lab, with the understanding that we are contributing importatnt population data. Science and sailing will be had by all on the Indian River Lagoon with a morning sail on the Schooner Lily with Treasure Coast Sailing Adventures!
Snacks provided, please come with plenty of water (preferably in a resuable container) & sunscreen!
Wear closed toe shoes and clothing you don't mind getting sweaty in.
Parents interested in chaperoning please let Carly Batts know!
**Note that we will be meeting at Shepard Park**
