Library Talk: Return of the Red-cockaded Woodpecker
Time & Location
About The Event
Join us for a talk with Valerie Sparling who has been with the FWC for 17 years as a Biological Scientist, leading the red-cockaded woodpecker studies conducted at DuPuis’ 21,875 acre property. Red-cockaded woodpeckers were once common throughout the southeastern United States but are now endangered through habitat loss and other factors. This presentation will discuss the unique life history of these woodpeckers and efforts to bring them back to the DuPuis Wildlife and Environmental Area as part of federal and state recovery plan.
