About The Event
Meet at the paved parking area at the end of the Fellsmere Grade Road before the entrance to T. M. Goodwin WMA at 7:30 AM for a car pool drive around the Goodwin Marsh complex with occasional stops to observe species of interest. In addition to our common waders, there may be some lingering waterfowl. There are many additional possibilities at this large freshwater marsh. Approximately 4 hours of birding followed by an optional gathering for a taste of "old Florida" and social time at the Marsh Landing Restaurant in Fellsmere.
Restrooms at meeting location, trip limited to 12 participants ( 3-4 cars, due to limited pullouts within the facility ), please specify if planning on lunch after the field trip so arrangements can be made with the restaurant by denoting in the comment section of your ticket purchase whether or not you would like a lunch reservation.
Be sure and bring binoculars, sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water
